This monochrome LCD display is low-cost and low-energy. It features 84x48 pixels and can display both text and images as well as animations.

These displays originate from the Nokia 5110 phone, which was produced from 1998 until the year 2000. Thanks to the breakout board, it is now possible to easily control this display with an Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi.

Operates at 3.3V and has a PCD8544 display driver chip.

The logic levels are also 3.3V; so it is not recommended to connect it directly to the output of your Arduino. In that case, use 10K ohm resistors. Of course, it is easier to use a microcontroller such as the ESP8266 or ESP32 boards. These have a 3.3V output on the pins.
