Light Barrier Sensor Module - 10mm

The FC-33 Light Barrier Sensor Module is a sensor used to detect the presence of objects by means of a light beam. The sensor consists of a transmitter and receiver module, each equipped with an LED and a phototransistor.

The transmitter module emits a beam of light, while the receiver module detects the light reflected by the object. When no object is present, the light beam is directed straight at the receiver module and the output remains inactive. But when an object is present and interrupts the light beam, the sensor output is activated.

This module is used, for example, to measure rotational speed with a disc with slots in it. It is also used on a 3D printer as a limit switch sensor.

The detection area is 10mm wide.

The module has 3 pins listed on the module:
- VCC (3.3V to 5V)
- GND (ground/min/ground)
- OUT (indicates whether the light barrier is open or closed)
