This sensor, which is mainly used for line tracking, operates similarly to motion detection sensors. Based on the TCRT5000 IC. The TCRT5000 sensor continuously emits infrared light. If the emitted wave is not or very poorly reflected, the output is LOW. If you place an object in front of this sensor, the output is HIGH.

How does infrared detection work exactly?
Black color absorbs IR radiation and reflects it very poorly. As a result, the output will be LOW if there is a black object in front of the sensor. However, if other colors are placed in front of the sensor, the output is HIGH.

When the output is HIGH, the LED lights up.
